A privileged moment with the São Paulo Companhia de Dança

As you will not get the chance to see the São Paulo Companhia de Dança on stage at Place des Arts this spring, join them for a virtual dance workshop.

The workshop for all will be given by Milton Coatti, rehearsal director of the dynamic Brazilian company. He will lead participants through exercises on body and space perception, working on motor coordination and flexibility. The workshop is adapted to the virtual context and will be based on dance techniques inspired by the company's contemporary repertoire.

The workshop will be held in English.

Par Milton Coatti, directeur des répétitions de São Paulo Companhia de Dança

Professor, dancer and choreographer, Milton Coatti started his training in 1997 with Nilson Rodrigues. As a dancer, he took part of the cast of some Brazilian companies as Maurício de Oliveira & Siameses, Diadema Dance Company, São Paulo Dance Company and Balé da Cidade de São Paulo. He worked as an independent artist and created the solo Alguém para Chamar de Meu Bem (2006). His repertoire includes several classic ballet pieces and contemporary works created by important Brazilian and international choreographers, such as Henrique Rodovalho, Rodrigo Pederneiras, Luís Arrieta, Itzik Galili, Alessio Silvestrin, Nacho Duato and Jiri Kylián. In 2018 he choreographed Mira, a 360º virtual reality production for São Paulo Dance Company, and the romantic act of Schumann ou Os Amores Do Poeta, a partnership between São Pedro Theater and São Paulo Dance Company. Since 2014, he has been a teacher at São Paulo Dance Company. In 2019, he was promoted to Rehearser Manager.
