"Danceable, giddily hooky...they're going places." -Mark Lepage, Montreal Gazette

"Offering those key elements we all look for... excitement, hooks, and maybe a touch of danger." -James Beaudreau, Masterdisk Record

"First You Get The Sugar is a local favourite combining melodic vocals and instrumentation to take you on a trip from here and back." -Montreal Music Scene

First You Get The Sugar is about to release their new record, Foreign Lands, and they are excitedly preparing for you to hear it. Recorded in makeshift studios and engineered entirely on their own, this new effort is the best representation of the band’s sound to date.  Having released their self-titled debut album in 2011 to sold-out shows and plenty of media attention, the boys in the band have been salivating to release new music ever since. Six months after the release of that first album, Adam, Mick, Dan and Alex found themselves in Brooklyn at Converse's Rubber Tracks studio. That two-day session yielded multiple singles in 2012, major radio play, and were featured on MTV Canada and CNN. They also landed spots at festivals like CMW, NXNE, Pop Montreal, and Evolve, most of which have since become yearly tour stops.

With a heap of skills picked up since their first effort and an enormous amount courage, the band set out to make this new record. Having realized that they themselves would be best suited to construct the sounds and vibes they wanted, this project is entirely their own work. The first single and accompanying video will drop in early September, with the full record set for release on October 28th. Launch party details and supporting tour dates will be announced shortly.
