Le Cercle - Lab Vivant & Festival Médina present Jerusalem In My Heart

Jerusalem In My Heart (JIMH) is a live performance project focusing on experiencing the ephemeral in live settings, utilising space to create broader relationship between audience and performer beyond the typical two dimensions. A unique use of the space is built using a multitude of screens with multiple 16mm film & 35mm slide projectionsWhile exploring the architectural and sculptural qualities of projections and sound, this live performance creates an environment conducive to various viewpoints. Using multiple 16-mm film projectors, 35 mm slide visuals and suspended screens, JIMH creates a sensorial and dream-like setting of permanent flux where viewers experience a personal and collective journey to redefine what is visible and invisible to an evolving effort to forge a modern experimental Arabic music that weds melismatic singing in classical Arabic modes to contemporary electronic compositions.

Jerusalem In My Heart currently exists around the core of Radwan Ghazi Moumneh carrying musical duties and Montreal filmmaker Charles-André Coderre providing live visuals using analog 16mm film projections and multiple site-specific screen installations.
